Methodology & Programs

Over the years, Makkala Jagriti has been fine tuning the holistic development learning model, to address the gap in children’s learning.

We build capacity for community people and government school teachers to bring a paradigm shift in their approach from being a ‘teacher on a stage’ to a ‘sage by the side’.
Our programs are conducted through activities, experiments, awareness building, experiential methodology and mentoring.

Typical Makkala Jagriti programs:
Programs for children between 6 to 14 years of age.

  • Reading Program
  • Theme Based Projects
  • Creative Development Program
  • Academic Development and Science Experiments
  • Sports Program
  • Educational Field Trips
  • Civic awareness Program
  • Health and Hygiene Camps

Programs for youth between 15 to 22 years of age.

  • Computer Training Program
  • Personality Development Program
  • Life skills Program/ Adventure Camps
  • Civic Awareness Program
  • Health and Hygiene Camps
  • Youth Leadership Workshop
  • Continuing Education Program (CEP) for school dropouts to continue education by appearing for the SSLC examination.

Each session begins with a large circle activity, which may involve a song, body movement or an ice breaker. The children then split up and work on the activity in smaller groups, allowing them to focus more closely on the task, so that each child’s voice is heard. The last part of the session brings the whole group together again, involving reflection about the activity and a sharing of their experiences.
