Anjali is a multi-talented young girl, currently in the ninth grade. She possesses a deep love for books, a strong passion for painting, and the determination to excel academically. Yet, her family circumstances have been far from her dreams as her father is an alcoholic, and her mother was in great turmoil because of her sister’s loss and her husband’s abusive behavior.
Anjali’s grandmother is highly resilient and the breadwinner of the family, owning a petty shop. Anjali, with her dreams and ambitions, carried the weight of her aspirations silently, unwilling to burden her family with a desire to acquire new skills as it needed financial assistance.
Anjali’s life took a transformative turn when she discovered Makkla Jagriti through her friends. Anjali found the nurturing environment she had longed for in our Kumara Park community center. Anjali engaged wholeheartedly in all the activities and classes at our center. She became highly motivated when the government recognized her science experiment as the “ Best Experiment” with rewards.
Anjali says she learned that true knowledge goes beyond textbooks. Her clear message to the world is that regardless of one’s family circumstances, aspirations and goals are worth pursuing and achieving. Now, she has become an inspiration to her younger brother, illuminating his path toward a brighter and more promising future.
