Basamma lost her childhood early. After her father left and her home became unsafe, she and her younger brother entered a Child Care Institution in 2021. It was frightening — but it was also where she began to find her voice.
Through life skills sessions, creative spaces, and opportunities to reflect, Basamma discovered confidence she didn’t know she had. When she later lost her mother and became solely responsible for her brother, she chose to hold on to one thing — her education.
With timely financial support, Basamma enrolled in a B.Com programme and continues learning alongside caring responsibilities. Her journey is not just about survival, but about dignity, resilience, and choosing a future with hope.
