As we begin the new year, it feels like a natural moment to pause, and share a glimpse of what lies ahead.
At Makkala Jagriti, 2026 marks an important step in a longer journey we have committed to—one that looks beyond immediate outcomes and focuses on building a strong, resilient organisation that can deepen and sustain its impact over time.
At the heart of this work, as always, are children and youth.
In the year ahead, we hope to reach more children across diverse settings—Anganwadis, government schools, child care institutions, and communities—while continuing to prioritise the quality of their everyday experiences. Safe spaces, meaningful relationships, and opportunities for holistic growth will remain central to how we design our work.
We know that children thrive when the ecosystem around them is strong.
In 2026, we will continue to work closely with teachers, caregivers, CCI staff, parents, and communities, strengthening capacities and institutional practices. Our partnerships with government departments—particularly in early childhood education, schools, and child care institutions—will focus on embedding holistic practices through training, resources, and sustained engagement, so that change can live within systems long after we step back.
As we look ahead, we are also preparing to scale our work responsibly.
This means expanding reach while staying deeply anchored in our values. Growth, for us, is not about speed—it is about consistency, care, and holding on to the core essence of who we are as an organisation. We want to ensure that as our footprint grows, our work continues to feel grounded, thoughtful, and child-centred.
Investing in people and leadership is a key part of this vision.
Over the coming year, we will place strong emphasis on building leadership across the organisation, strengthening internal systems, and nurturing a culture of learning and reflection. This is essential if we are to sustain our vision and remain accountable to the children and communities we serve.
We are also becoming more intentional about how we use technology and knowledge.
Technology will support program monitoring, strengthen internal processes, and enable better decision-making across the organization. It will also help us expand the reach of our programs. Our focus is on using technology thoughtfully – as an enabler that strengthens effectiveness and access.
As we step into 2026, we do so with clarity, humility, and gratitude.
Warm wishes for a very happy new year.
